Wavehill - "A fully bilingual consultancy"

Bilingualism is central to promoting diversity and ensuring equal opportunities. Wavehill therefore observes bilingual best practice in all our fieldwork carried out within Wales. When gathering information from stakeholders we feel it is essential for people to be offered a choice in whether they use Welsh or English. This not only ensures that people are more comfortable talking to us, but it also makes sense from a data quality perspective - our experience tells us that better data is produced when people are at ease with the language they are using.

We have also recently completed a number of projects where the Welsh language was a research subject, as well as the main medium of communication. We conducted an impact evaluation for the Welsh Language Board on the Estyn Llaw project, which aims to promote the Welsh language in the voluntary sector in Wales. We have also completed a programme of research with bilingual FE students for Mantais on their attitudes towards Welsh-medium and bilingual study at University.
