Louise Petrie
Louise joined Wavehill in 2007 and is one of Wavehill's Senior Researchers. Louise has worked on a number of high profile projects including a Farmers Survey for Forestry Commission Wales speaking to farmers who have been either successful or unsuccessful in obtaining grant aid to establish how effectively they manage their woodland and an Evaluation of the Swansea Rural Development Programme, a project aimed at assisting communities, helping them to boost their local economy by supporting local businesses, improving basic services, village enhancement schemes, improving skills through training, and improving public and community transport.
Louise's key role as Senior Researcher is to oversee the process of questionnaire development and the pilot stage of a new contract ensuring that the planned research and evaluation process meets our client's objectives.
Her experience also includes working on a survey commissioned by Sports Council for Wales engaging over 1200 schools to participate in an on-line survey to determine the sports activities they take part in outside of School. One of Louise's particular strengths is engaging with hard-to-reach people including those with learning difficulties and mental health problems and has visited a large number of projects out in the field which includes activities based in the woodland working with disaffected young people for WICKED to conducting case study visits for Big Lottery and People and Places.
Prior to joining Wavehill Louise worked in Canada for a number of years and then returned to the U.K. to set up her own business when her organisational skills and financial experience was established.
