Endaf has 20 years experience in the public, private and third sectors as a company director, project manager, consultant and social researcher. Endaf specialises in evaluation, especially finding out why projects and programmes work (or don't), strategic development and has a particular interest in Thoery of Change and Logic Mapping.

Mark co-founded Wavehill. During the lifetime of the company Mark has gained a wealth of experience working with community regeneration projects across England and Wales, leading and co-ordinating evaluations, research studies, community consultations, training and large scale surveys. One of Mark's primary responsibilities is new business development.

Andy is an experienced research practitioner with a strong track record of delivering high quality research and consultancy assignments in both the public and private sector. Andy has hands-on public sector service delivery experience drawn from roles within the police and the NHS. He has delivered consultancy assignments for a range of clients across the UK including the Home Office, DCMS, Creative Scotland, Skills for Care, National Literacy Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, the Advice Services Alliance, Arts Council England, Nesta, the Welsh Government and a range of local councils and regeneration partnerships.

Simon draws on over 18 years of unparalleled practical hands-on experience of  Early Years, Schools and Post 16 skills and training research, evaluation and policy development work for FOCUS Central London Training and Enterprise Council (TEC), the London Central Learning and Skills Council, and the Department for Education and Skills (DfES).

Dyfan has almost ten years’ experience as a researcher in the public, academic and private sector. He was a researcher at the National Assembly for Wales from 2008-2012, working with the Heritage Minister and with Assembly Members on a range of portfolios including economic development, the Welsh language, broadcasting, education and rural affairs policy. He then studied for a PhD in international relations at Aberystwyth University with a semester as a visiting researcher at Antwerp University, receiving his doctorate in 2017. Dyfan also worked on a range of research projects at the university, and was employed until December 2017 as a research associate on a WISERD Civil Society project focussing on statutory and non-statutory education in Wales.

Tom joined the team based in Aberaeron in May 2018 and brings a wealth of experience having worked previously for the University of Liverpool, IPSOS MORI and more locally for Aberystwyth University. His research career has taken him across the UK, as well as to Spain, Italy, and the U.S.A. He has experience of working on research projects commissioned by the ESRC, the European Research Council, and the NHS, as well as projects for NGOs and businesses.

Llorenc specialises in conducting research that explores the efficacy and effectiveness of services and support across education, health, social care, and social policy. With a background in evidence enriched practice, he holds in-depth knowledge of research designs and data analysis techniques that support the design, delivery and evaluation of diverse range of policy and practice. Drawing on these skills and expertise, Llorenc has worked with a broad range of organisations across central and local government and in the voluntary sector, both at home in the UK and internationally.

Eva has over 15 years’ experience in community and local economic development, the social economy, innovation and sustainability in Wales, the UK and wider Europe. She works with Wavehill as an Associate Senior Consultant. Eva is an experienced consultant and researcher and regularly delivers strategic assignments for social enterprises, social economy infrastructure organisations and the public sector. She is a fluent speaker of German and Spanish, with a good working knowledge of French.

John's specialist areas of expertise include site and property business planning, business and corporate reviews / planning / recovery, economic impact assessments and appraisals, feasibility assessments and options appraisals.  He also has extensive experience of work in terms of inward investment strategies and analyses, economic strategies, modelling and analyses, labour economics; including education and training, project and policy evaluation and support for European funded programmes.

Ioan joined Wavehill in April 2016 bringing over four years’ experience in the research consultancy sector to the organisation which includes an extensive use of both qualitative and quantitative research methods gained during a wide range of research assignments for clients across the public and third sectors. Ioan has strong data analysis skills having conducted literally hundreds of interviews with programme beneficiaries and stakeholders over the years as well as being well-versed in other research methods.

Declan is an economist with several years’ experience in managing and delivering economic development activities in local government where he has supported a number of ERDF programmes and infrastructure projects. Since joining Wavehill Declan has led on several project evaluations and economic impact assessments developing existing skills in quantitative analysis and data manipulation.

Paula joined Wavehill in 2014 after graduating from York University. During her time with the company she has become well versed in both qualitative and quantitative research, and has strong data analysis skills. As a consultant she has specialised in the design of database tools and CRM systems, and has created a number of survey tools across a wide range of survey platforms such as Qualtrics, SNAP and Google Forms. She is frequently involved in initial question design and piloting and is experienced ensuring tools are optimised for ease of use by both researcher and interviewee.

Before joining Wavehill Anna worked at a national young persons’ health and education charity and at a drug and education policy think tank. Her work has focused on gender and education policy, primarily through qualitative data analysis. Anna has been involved in all aspects of project delivery, including research design, fieldwork, analysis and reporting as well as other policy and programme research assignments. She is proficient in both qualitative and quantitative research and is well-versed engaging with individuals through focus groups, face-to-face and telephone interviews.

Sarah joined Wavehill in May 2019, having previously worked as a data analyst for a youth work charity, and in research before that, after graduating in Economics from UWE in 2014. Sarah has experience of research design, data analysis and report writing, as well as the use of CRM systems and survey platforms. In addition, Sarah has almost 10 years’ experience working as a youth worker and mentor with young people from many different backgrounds. She currently volunteers weekly supporting vulnerable young people on a one to one basis. 

One of our company’s major strengths is our in-house research team. The team are vastly experienced interviewers who are actively involved in questionnaire design and providing the consultant with an interviewer’s perspective on all our research tools. Team members are not only proficient in one-to-one interview techniques but are also routinely trained in the use of Wavehill’s computer-aided interview systems such as CAPI (Computer Aided Personal Interviewing), CATI (Computer Aided Telephone Interviewing) and CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing).

Louise is our Operations Manager and has been with Wavehill since 2007. She is Prince 2 trained ensuring that all projects delivered by Wavehill follow Prince 2 principles. She was instrumental in Wavehill achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification and now leads the internal audit process. She is also responsible for maintaining other company standards such as Cyber Essentials and ensuring we comply with Market Research Society code of conduct.
