In February 2016, Wavehill was commissioned to carry out a visitor survey at the Royal Welsh Spring Festival which ran for two days on the 21st and 22nd May. The research was primarily based on fieldwork undertaken during and immediately after the event.
In addition to engaging with 387 visitors, Wavehill also surveyed traders (65) and exhibitors (32) to garner their experiences.
The research has provided the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society (RWAS) with insights that will aid in ensuring the continued success and sustainability of the Festival. These include a better understanding of the profile of visitors (visitor postcode data was also used for additional segmentation work), what had attracted them to attend the event, what had worked well and which areas could be improved.
