The Pen y Cymoedd Community Fund has been established by energy company Vattenfall for the benefit of the communities hosting the wind farm in or across the upper reaches of the Neath, Afan, Rhondda or Cynon Valleys.
With an annual budget of £1.8 million each year from 2017 until at least 2036, the Fund offers an unprecedented opportunity for local people to invest in themselves and their ideas to improve the economic, social, cultural and environmental life of their communities – now, and in the long-term.
The Fund is managed by an entirely independent, locally based and locally accountable not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC).
Wavehill have been commissioned by the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund CIC to work with them over the next five years to monitor and evaluate:
the impact and outcomes of Community Fund investments;
delivery of the Community Vision set out in the Fund Prospectus; and
the CIC’s own working practice and effectiveness in support of these.
