Further information
Why is this research happening?
Wavehill has been commissioned by The Ernest Cook Trust to evaluate the Blue Influencers Scheme. The aim is to understand how the scheme is being delivered, what approaches Mentors are using, and what impacts the projects are having on young people and their wider communities.
What type of information is collected?
We collect information from:
Young people (via the End of Project Survey – text, audio, or video options)
Community members (via the Community Survey)
Mentors (via the Mentor Dashboard)
This may include:
Reflections on experiences, confidence, and skills developed
Views on engagement with blue spaces
Numbers of activities, events, and young people involved
No young person is required to share any personal information, and they can choose what they feel comfortable responding to.
What is personal data?
Personal data is information that could identify a person on its own or when combined with other information (e.g., name, contact details, school, or location). We only collect personal data if it is necessary for arranging evaluation activities or for understanding who has taken part (e.g., age band or demographic categories). All personal data is used for evaluation purposes only, and is not used to identify individuals.
How long does Wavehill keep personal data for?
Data will be kept for six months after completion of the evaluation.
What is the legal basis for collecting and processing the data collected?
The legal basis is legitimate interest. The evaluation helps The Ernest Cook Trust understand what is working well, what could be improved, and the impact the scheme is having on young people and communities.
What is the purpose of processing your answers?
All responses are used for research and evaluation only. Data is analysed to understand delivery and impact across the Scheme.
Who has access to the personal data collected through the survey?
Only Wavehill staff working on the evaluation can access individual responses. Reporting will be anonymous- no individual young person, community member, Mentor, or project will be identified in any published outputs. The Ernest Cook Trust and delivery partners will receive aggregated findings only (e.g., total numbers, themes, overall impact).
