We’re pleased to share that we’ve completed an evaluation for the Sussex Violence Reduction Partnership evaluating the delivery of Focussed Deterrence in Brighton & Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex.
Our evaluation explored:
Identification of ‘What Works’ in delivery models, accounting for local contexts and partnership arrangements
How deterrence and engagement approaches are being operationalised
Indicative impact of delivery, on both partners and participants
Comparative learning across all three interventions, including emerging best practice and areas for improvement.
Through this work, we identified transferable learning to support both the refinement of existing provision and the development of future delivery models. This included approaches to evidence collection.
We’re continuing to work with the VRP and delivery partners to embed this learning through extended evaluation activity of Focused Deterrence delivery across 2026/27. This next phase will also assess the effectiveness of newly established Custody Navigator models across Sussex.
