Gateway Review Interviews Privacy Notice

Wavehill are undertaking research on behalf of Tees Valley Combined Authority to complete evaluations of projects delivered by TVCA as part of the Gateway Review. 

The information gathered is used to help Wavehill better understand the nature of the projects and the requirements for the evaluations. 

People taking part in these interviews have been chosen based on their involvement with the projects, either in delivery or management or as knowledgeable stakeholders. Participation in the survey is voluntary. You can decide to not take part before or during the survey session and can choose to not answer certain questions if you prefer.  

 

You are not required to provide your name or any other identifying information. Wavehill will not combine your responses with any other data that will allow you to be identified. The information is only used for analysis and research purposes. Reports produced by Wavehill on behalf of TVCA from any analysis will be made available on the TVCA website as part of the Gateway Review. Wavehill will produce reports based on the data to be shared with the Department for Levelling Up, Homes and Communities and their appointed representatives (including SQW) but this will not identify any individuals. 

 

Your data is deleted within six months following the completion of the evaluations in March 2025. We do not share or use your information for commercial or marketing purposes.   1. What is the Gateway Review Evaluation? 

The Gateway Review is a legal requirement for devolved combined authorities set at five year intervals during the 30 year agreement period. The review provides an opportunity to assess the performance of the Combined Authorities using delivered interventions and other policy activities to evaluate this. A number of projects/programmes have been selected for both process and impact evaluations with specific evaluation frameworks prepared by SQW on behalf of the Department for Levelling Up, Homes and Communities to guide the evaluations. Wavehill are undertaking these evaluations on behalf of Tees Valley Combined Authority. 


  1. What type of information is collected through the survey? 

The interviews covers a wide range of topics. These include: 

  • Background and context to the projects 

  • Delivery design and activities 

  • Monitoring and evaluations 

  • Management and governance 

  • Outcomes and initial impacts  

 

  1. What is personal data? 

Personal data means any information that could lead to a person being identified either alone or in combination with other widely-available information, e.g. their name, their address, or details specific to that person.  

The interviews does not collect any personal information and will not be joined with any other data sources. 

 

  1. How long does Wavehill hold data for? 

Any data collected from this survey will be held for a period of no more than six months after it has been gathered. 

 

  1. What is the purpose of processing your answers?  

The data is used for improving the Wavehill evaluation team’s understanding of the projects and triangulating perceptions of the importance of the programme/project in the local context. 


  1. Who has access to the data collected through the survey? 

Data collected through this survey will only be used by Wavehill for analysis and reporting purposes and will not be shared with any external organisation or partner. No individual survey responses will be identified or used in the reporting for this research. Language learning models and 3rd party software may be used to help us process data.
