Further information

Why is this research happening?

Wavehill has been commissioned by Durham Wildlife Trust to evaluate the Links with Nature programme. The purpose of the evaluation is to understand how the programme is being delivered, what activities people are taking part in and what impact the programme is having on participants’ wellbeing and connection with nature. Your feedback will help Durham Wildlife Trust understand what is working well and how the programme can be improved in future.

What type of information is collected?

We collect information from people taking part in the programme through:• A wellbeing survey completed before and after the programme• Optional interviews or conversations with participants and staff

This may include:

  • Reflections on your experiences, wellbeing, and confidence

  • How connected you feel to nature

  • What activities you took part in

  • What you think the programme has helped you with

  • Suggestions for what could be improved

You do not need to share any personal information unless you are comfortable doing so.

What is personal data?

Personal data is information that could identify you on its own or when combined with other information (for example, your name, contact details, or any specific demographic information).

For this evaluation, we only collect personal data if it is necessary- for example, to arrange an interview or to understand who has taken part in a general sense (such as age band or gender). All personal data is used only for evaluation purposes and will not be used to identify individuals in any reporting.

How long does Wavehill keep personal data for?

Data will be kept for six months after completion of the evaluation.

What is the legal basis for collecting and processing the data collected?

The legal basis is legitimate interest. The evaluation helps Durham Wildlife Trust understand what is working well, what could be improved, and the impact the scheme is having on young people and communities.

What is the purpose of processing your answers?

All responses are used for research and evaluation only. Data is analysed to understand delivery and impact across the programme.

Who has access to the personal data collected through the survey?

Only Wavehill staff working on the evaluation can access individual responses.

Reporting will be anonymous- no individual or organisation will be identified in any published outputs.
