Further information

What is the People’s Palace and Winter Gardens Project?

People’s Palace and Winter Gardens is a project which aims to re-establish the site as a key cultural asset for the city’s communities, and will incorporate improvements to the site’s visitor and retail offer. It will also embed collaboration with local and underrepresented communities as key stakeholders of the museum’s transformation and deliver initiatives to inform wider learning and contribute towards both long-term organisational and environmental sustainability.

What type of information is collected through the research?

We are collecting information from people involved in the project, including Glasgow Life staff, external consultants and panel members through interviews and reflective workshops, delivered in-person and via Teams video conferencing.

These may include:

  • Reflections on your experiences of the project

  • How the project impacted you, if at all

  • What has been good about the project

  • Suggestions for what could be improved

Responses will be recorded via written notes, meeting transcripts and audio and video recordings. You do not need to share any personal information unless you are comfortable doing so.

What is personal data?

Personal data means any information that could lead to a person being identified either alone or in combination with other widely-available information, e.g. their name, their address, or details specific to that person.

Any personal data collected will be anonymised and will not be made public in a way which will lead to either you or your organisation being identified.

How long does Glasgow Life keep personal data for?

Six months.

What is the legal basis for collecting and processing the data collected?

Legitimate interest. The evaluation helps Glasgow Life to understand what has worked well , what could be improved and what impacts the project has had so far.

Who has access to the personal data collected through the research?
