How we hold and process your information

Wavehill are evaluating the Living Barracks project on behalf of a partnership consisting of English Heritage, The Maltings Trust, King’s Own Scottish Borderers (KOSB) and Berwick Record Office.

The information gathered is used to help to assess the success of the project and to gauge its impact on visitors, volunteers and local communities living within or near Berwick.

Participation in the survey is voluntary. You can decide to not take part before or during the survey and can choose to not answer certain questions if you prefer.

 

Any personal information collected as part of the survey is kept confidential. Your answers to the survey will not be made public in a way that could lead to you or your household being identified. The information is only used for research purposes. Wavehill will produce a report based on the data but this will not identify any individuals.

 

Your personal data is deleted within six months.  Your answers to the survey are linked anonymously to other data sources for non-commercial research purposes only, unless you ask for this linkage to not take place. The anonymised data is held securely and is only ever used for non-commercial research purposes. We do not share or use your information for commercial or marketing purposes.

Under the new data protection legislation, you have the right:

  • To access your personal data held by English Heritage.

  • To require English Heritage to correct any mistakes in that data.

1.      What is the Living Barracks Project?

The Living Barracks project, delivered by a partnership of English Heritage, The Maltings Trust, King’s Own Scottish Borderers (KOSB) and Berwick Record Office is being undertaken to make capital improvements to the Berwick Barracks site and to develop a culturally rich and heritage-focused event, activities and volunteering programme, which will engage new audiences both within and outside Berwick and provide opportunities for communities to play a vital role in the Barrack’s transformation.


2.      What type of information is collected through the survey?

The survey covers a wide range of topics. These include:

  • Experiences of the programme and its impacts on event attendants and volunteers

  • Demographic and place-based data including gender identity, ethnicity and postcode

 

3.      What is personal data?

Personal data means any information that could lead to a person being identified either alone or in combination with other widely-available information, e.g. their name, their address, or details specific to that person.


Any personal data collected will be anonymised and won’t be used to identify any individuals.


4.      How long does English Heritage keep personal data for?

Six months.


5.      What is the legal basis for collecting and processing the data collected?  

Legitimate interest.

 

6.      Who has access to the personal data collected through the survey?

Wavehill and organisations within the Living Barracks partnership will have access to the anonymised data collected through the research. Language learning models and 3rd party software may be used to help us process data.
